The people directing Restorers of Zion
Hannah Weiss
Hannah is an Israeli believer, originally from the U.S. and living in the Land for 20 years now. Having found Yeshua as a child in a very assimilated Jewish home, she grew up in a church environment and did not discover her Jewish identity until college years. Hannah then joined a Messianic congregation and began to learn the basics of Jewish life, which eventually led her to marriage and aliyah to Israel. Over a learning process that spanned several decades, she grew simultaneously in Jewish identity and in obedience to the Lord that involved progressively deeper levels of surrender. She is married and the mother of three children aged 18-12, all of them born in Israel.
By profession, Hannah is a writer and editor, with a small home business that has a regular clientele in the Israeli and European markets. Over the years she has served in several ministries, first while in the States and then in Israel, working in various capacities alongside prominent Messianic leaders.
Hannah functions in Restorers as spokesperson and correspondent for Israeli congregational leaders and believers overseas.
Arye (Earl) Powlison
Growing up in a missionary family in Peru, Arye accepted the Lord as a youngster, and as he matured he came into an ever-deepening walk in the Spirit. Having lived in an environment that emphasized the need to communicate the gospel to people in their own cultural terms, he set out to discover why the same was not being done for Israelis, who after all were more closely aligned with the original culture of the gospel than any other people on earth. The Lord then gave him a heart to serve the Israeli people, which led him to move to Israel more than 30 years ago, where he met his wife (an American Jewish immigrant).
Arye's many years in Israel have been spent raising their three children to adulthood, working full-time as a computer programmer and team leader in a high-tech corporation, and serving as an elder and teacher for various Israeli congregations. Over the decades of living in the Land, he has studied the Scriptures in depth, in an effort to recover the original "gospel to the circumcision" - a life of obedience to the Torah empowered by the Holy Spirit. His initial findings were published in a book, My Law on Your Heart: Living Yeshua's Jewishness (1995) and a booklet, Proclaiming the Kingdom in Judea: Restoring Jewish Evangelism (1996). He continues to study the subject, to teach on it when asked, and to apply these principles to his daily life.
Arye serves Restorers as a point person for Israeli leaders, consultant for funds distribution and source of spiritual guidance regarding the direction and priorities of the ministry.
